What to Do After Landing at Bodrum Airport: A Step-by-Step, Area-by-Area Arrival Guide (2026)
Every step at Milas-Bodrum Airport, from the moment you leave the plane to the door of your hotel, villa or marina: two terminals, meeting your driver, the waiting rule, drive times to 12 areas, summer traffic, bus and taxi compared, and an arrival-day checklist.

Quick answer: After landing at Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV), you collect your luggage, clear customs and walk to the arrivals exit of the terminal your flight landed at (International or Domestic). If you have booked a private transfer, your driver waits for you at this exit with a Vixride sign showing your name and carries your suitcases to the vehicle. Waiting is free for 60 minutes, counted not from the scheduled time but from the actual landing time; you don't need to report a delay. In normal traffic, you reach Guvercinlik in about 18 minutes, Bodrum Center in 35, Yalikavak in 50 and Turgutreis in 55; all 12 destinations are listed in the table below. The service runs 24/7 and there is no night rate.

Arrival in 4 steps: from flight tracking to your hotel door

  1. Live flight tracking: Whether your plane lands early or late, it is tracked in real time; no extra charge is made for delays.
  2. Baggage claim and exit gate: You collect your luggage, clear customs and walk to the arrivals exit.
  3. Meet & greet with a name sign: At the gate, your driver meets you with a Vixride sign showing your name and carries your suitcases to the vehicle.
  4. Direct ride: The vehicle is reserved for your group only; no other passengers are picked up and no stops are made at other hotels. You go straight to your hotel lobby or your villa.

What should you prepare before your flight?

In the booking form, you enter the pickup and drop-off points, the date, the time and the number of passengers; the form offers 1–6 passengers and a "7+ passengers (Vip Sprinter)" option. You then choose the vehicle class and enter your contact details. Your booking is confirmed by the confirmation voucher that Vixride sends you by email or WhatsApp.

Before boarding the plane, keep the following to hand:

  • Your flight number: The driver uses this number to track the actual landing time; enter it in full in the form.
  • Your booking reference: You quote this number when reporting a cancellation, a change or new flight details.
  • The full drop-off address: The name of the hotel, the location of the villa or the pier where your boat is moored.
  • Your child seat request: It is free of charge; you request it when booking or via WhatsApp.
  • Support line: +90 553 537 33 61; 24/7 by WhatsApp and phone in Turkish, English, German, French and Russian.
  • Website languages: You can use the booking website in Turkish, English, German, French, Russian, Polish, Chinese and Japanese.

You can book up to 2 hours before pickup. In the busy holiday season, we recommend booking 24–48 hours in advance to get the vehicle you want.

Which terminal will you land at, and where do you meet your driver?

Milas-Bodrum Airport has two separate terminals: the International Terminal and the Domestic Terminal. At both terminals, your driver waits at the arrivals exit, right outside the baggage hall exit, with a personalised Vixride sign showing your name. On our transfer page, both meeting points are shown with an "Open in Google Maps" link.

Before your plane lands, the following three details are sent to you by WhatsApp:

  • Your driver's phone number
  • The vehicle's licence plate
  • The exact meeting point

If your plane lands at a different terminal from the one expected: For example, if you land at the Domestic Terminal instead of the International Terminal, your driver is notified of the terminal change instantly. The driver is redirected to the baggage hall exit of the correct terminal at no extra charge; you don't need to do anything.

If you can't see your driver, do the following in order:

  1. Don't move away from the arrivals exit.
  2. Reread the meeting point details on WhatsApp and check that you are at the right terminal.
  3. Message or call +90 553 537 33 61 on WhatsApp; the operations desk will connect you with your driver.

Summer traffic: the Torba and Ortakent junctions, evenings and weekends

  • June to September: The Torba and Ortakent junctions and central Bodrum are at their busiest between 17:00 and 20:00.
  • Saturdays and Sundays: These are hotel check-in and check-out (guest changeover) days.
  • The Yalikavak road: The normal journey time is about 50 minutes, but in summer, bottlenecks at the Torba and Ortakent junctions can cause delays. Our drivers know these summer bottlenecks and how to get through them.

The most important point is this: traffic never changes the price. There is no taximeter; any extra time on the road is included in the fixed price.

Vixride cannot be held liable for delays, missed flights or losses caused by force majeure, such as severe weather, road traffic accidents, closed roads or strikes.

Arriving in Yalikavak and at Yalikavak Marina

Yalikavak is 52 km from the airport; the drive takes about 50 minutes in normal traffic. The route crosses the peninsula via the Torba junction and follows winding coastal roads.

  • Drop-off at the marina gate: The driver takes you from the BJV arrivals exit straight to the VIP gates of Yalikavak Marina, the tender docks or the boutiques along the seafront. The services also include "Palmarina Superyacht Jetty Access".
  • Escort to the pontoon: The drop-off point can be a luxury suite, a private villa or your yacht's tender pontoon. The driver escorts your group, with all your luggage, to the designated marina pontoon gate or the hotel reception.
  • No marina access fee: No extra charge is made for marina access; the price is the fixed amount in your booking.
  • Vehicle comfort: Our Mercedes Vito vans have independent chassis suspension, leather seats and dual-zone climate control.
  • During your holiday: You can be picked up 24/7, at any time you like, from beach venues and restaurants in Yalikavak, as well as from beach clubs in Turkbuku or Gumusluk, to go to the airport.

Arriving in Bodrum Center, Gumbet, Bitez, Turgutreis and other areas

In Guvercinlik, Torba, Bodrum Center, Gumbet, Bitez, Golturkbuku, Ortakent, Gundogan and Turgutreis, you are dropped off directly at the entrance of any hotel, luxury resort, holiday villa or private apartment, with no stops at other hotels. Our area pages state no area-specific luggage or vehicle restrictions; you choose the vehicle according to your number of passengers and suitcases.

  • Golturkbuku (Turkbuku): At the end of your holiday, you can be picked up at any time you like from a beach club or restaurant in Turkbuku to go to the airport.
  • Gumbet and Bitez: As there is no night rate, arrivals in the early hours of the morning cost the same.
  • Turgutreis: If you are heading to your boat, there are also transfers to D-Marin Turgutreis.
  • Kadikale and Akyarlar: Transfers go to a hotel, a villa or any address; simply enter the full address when booking.
  • Other marinas and private addresses: Besides Yalikavak Marina and D-Marin Turgutreis, transfers also go door to door to Milta Marina, as well as to villas, private bays and boutique resorts all over the peninsula.

Havaş and Muttaş bus, taxi or private transfer: which suits you best?

Aspect Havaş / Muttaş bus Yellow airport taxi Vixride private transfer
Where does it go? Only to Bodrum bus station (about 45 minutes) Door to door; the driver chooses the route Door to door, direct and non-stop
Fare Per person Depends on the taximeter Fixed price per vehicle

Vehicle 45–50 seats, crowded, tight seating Compact sedan; limited boot space for 3–4 people with large suitcases Sedan, van or Sprinter
  • To Yalikavak, Gumbet or Turgutreis by bus: The bus departs from the terminal exit and goes to Bodrum bus station; for these areas, you change there to a local dolmuş (a shared minibus) and carry your suitcases all over again. There are no child seats on the bus.
  • If you are going to another address: The bus only drops off at central bus stations; from there, you have to take a second taxi or walk with your suitcases.
  • The maths for families: The bus fare is per person, while the private transfer price is per vehicle. For a family of 3–4, the total bus fare can exceed the cost of a private transfer.
  • Current timetables: For bus times, check www.havas.net.

Choosing a vehicle: families, groups, golf bags and pushchairs

Choose the vehicle class according to your number of passengers and large suitcases:

Vehicle Max. passengers Max. large suitcases Who is it suitable for?
Economy Sedan (Mercedes E-Class) 3 2 Couples, small families travelling light
FirstClass Van (Mercedes Vito) 6 6 Families, travellers with golf bags, pushchairs or foldable wheelchairs
Vip Sprinter (Mercedes Sprinter) 16 16 Groups of 7 or more
  • The number of suitcases matters as much as the number of passengers: If three people arrive with three large suitcases, the Economy Sedan's 2-suitcase limit is exceeded; choose the FirstClass Van.
  • Golf bags, pushchairs and foldable wheelchairs: These fit in the FirstClass Van and the Vip Sprinter.
  • Luggage is free: Just choose a vehicle that is large enough. If your luggage doesn't fit in the vehicle you booked, a larger vehicle may be needed; in that case, that class's listed price applies, and this is confirmed with you first.
  • Comfort and child seats: All vehicles are air-conditioned and regularly sanitised; they all have leather seats, free Wi-Fi, USB charging and complimentary water. Certified infant seats and booster cushions are free of charge on airport transfers; if you request them when booking, they are fitted in the vehicle before you arrive.

Price, payment, booking and cancellation

  • Fixed price per vehicle: Everyone in the vehicle is covered by the amount you see when booking; the price in your booking is the price you pay.
  • Included in the price: VAT, motorway, bridge and tunnel tolls, airport parking fees, time spent in traffic, flight tracking, meet & greet with a name sign at the terminal, free waiting and help with your luggage.
  • No extra charge for: Heavy summer traffic, marina access fees, luggage, late-night landings and delays. There is no taximeter and no night rate.
  • When does the price change? Only if, during the journey, you want to go to a different address or make an extra drop-off; the driver confirms the difference with you first.
  • Payment in the vehicle: Nothing is charged in advance; at the end of the journey, you pay in cash (euros, US dollars, pounds sterling or Turkish lira) or by card. If you are not satisfied, you can choose not to pay.
  • Cancellation and changes: These are always free of charge; as nothing is paid in advance, there is nothing to refund either. We kindly ask you to let us know via WhatsApp, quoting your booking reference, at least 24 hours in advance so that the vehicle can be reassigned.
  • Return transfer: You book your return to the airport from your hotel, villa or any address in the same way; the pickup time is agreed with you based on your flight time. Check your airline's check-in closing time on its own website. At hotel and address pickups, the driver waits 15 minutes free of charge; if you are not at the pickup point within this time, the transfer is marked as a "No Show", the driver may leave and no charge is made.
  • Hourly chauffeur: If you need a driver by the hour during your holiday, Vixride also offers an hourly chauffeur service in Bodrum.

Vixride is a TÜRSAB-licensed travel agency (licence no. 14798) that has been operating at 10 airports in Turkey and North Cyprus since 2021. Transfers are carried out under a D2 authorisation certificate from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure; drivers hold an SRC certificate of professional competence, and drivers and vehicles are authorised and insured.

Step-by-step worked examples

The times below are for illustration only; the time spent at the airport differs on every flight.

Example 1: A family heading to Yalikavak on a summer Saturday evening. Two adults and two children aged 1 and 8 land at the International Terminal on a Saturday in August. They have 5 large suitcases and a pushchair; the villa they have rented is in Yalikavak.

  1. Booking: 4 passengers and 5 suitcases exceed the Economy Sedan's limit (3 passengers, 2 suitcases). Because it is peak season, the family books a FirstClass Van a few days in advance; the vehicle takes 6 passengers and 6 suitcases, and the pushchair fits too. They request an infant seat and a booster cushion.
  2. Delay: The plane, scheduled to land at 17:40, lands at 18:05. The family doesn't send a message; the driver is already tracking the flight.
  3. Waiting: The free waiting time starts at 18:05 and lasts until 19:05. The family meets the driver at the exit at 18:50 and stays within the free waiting time.
  4. The drive: With a journey of about 50 minutes in normal traffic, the family would be in Yalikavak at around 19:40. However, as they will pass through the Torba junction between 17:00 and 20:00 on a summer Saturday, they may arrive later; the price doesn't change.
  5. Arrival and payment: The driver drops the family off at the villa's gate; the family pays the fixed amount by card in the vehicle. Had they come by bus, they would have had to change to a dolmuş at Bodrum bus station and carry the five suitcases and the pushchair all over again.

Example 2: Three friends heading to Gumbet after midnight. Three people with 2 large suitcases are going to their hotel in Gumbet.

  1. Vehicle: For 3 passengers and 2 suitcases, the Economy Sedan is enough. With one more large suitcase, they would have had to choose the FirstClass Van.
  2. Delay: The plane, scheduled to land at 23:50, lands at 00:40. The group doesn't report anything; the pickup time is adjusted automatically.
  3. Waiting: The free waiting time starts at 00:40 and lasts until 01:40. The group spots the sign at 01:10 and meets the driver.
  4. The drive: Gumbet is 38 km away, about 38 minutes in normal traffic; the group is at the hotel entrance at around 01:48.
  5. Payment: No night rate applies; the group pays the fixed amount in cash, in euros.

Example 3: A couple heading to Akyarlar after a cancelled flight. Two people with 2 large suitcases are going to a villa in Akyarlar; however, their evening flight is cancelled.

  1. Notification: Unlike a delay, a cancellation is something you need to report. The couple sends the new flight number for the following morning, together with their booking reference, via WhatsApp; the change is free of charge.
  2. New landing: The new flight lands at 09:15. The free waiting time lasts until 10:15; the couple meets the driver at 09:55.
  3. The drive: Akyarlar is 58 km away, about 60 minutes in normal traffic; the couple is at the villa at around 10:55.
  4. Payment: Nothing was paid for the original booking; in the vehicle, the couple only pays the fixed amount for the transfer that actually took place.

Arrival-day checklist

  1. Check that the flight number, landing date, number of passengers and hotel, villa or marina address are correct on your booking voucher.

  3. If you need a child seat, request it when booking or via WhatsApp.
