Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a chauffeur cost per hour in Goreme?
Hourly rates: Economy Sedan €40, FirstClass Van €50, Vip Sprinter €75. Packages run from 2 to 10 hours; for example 4 hours / 80 km with an Economy Sedan costs €160. The price is per vehicle, not per person.
How many kilometres are included, and how far do you get from Goreme?
Each hour includes 20 km. Examples from Goreme — 2 hours / 40 km: Ortahisar Castle.
Where does the chauffeur pick me up?
At your hotel, villa or any address in Goreme. Enter it as the pickup location when booking; the driver waits for you at every stop during the package.
Which package do I need for Ortahisar Castle?
Ortahisar Castle is about 5 km by road from Goreme (10 km there and back). The 2 hours / 40 km package covers the trip, including about an hour there.
Can I also book an airport transfer to Goreme?
Yes. Nevsehir Cappadocia Airport (NAV) to Goreme is about 40 km, ~40 minutes; see the NAV to Goreme transfer page for the fixed price.
How do we visit the Göreme Open-Air Museum with a car and driver by the hour?
The driver drops you at the entrance and waits in the car park while you explore; tickets are bought at the gate and are not included. The rock-cut churches have been part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985, and the Dark Church needs an extra ticket. Early in the morning or later in the afternoon there are usually fewer tour buses. Tokalı Church, just below the main entrance, fits into the same stop.
Can the driver pick us up at the other end of Love Valley?
Yes. The driver drops you at one entrance to the valley, then drives round by road and waits at the other end, so you never have to retrace your steps. The path between Love Valley's tall, slender fairy chimneys is mostly easy but sandy and dusty in places, so wear good shoes and bring water. Agree on the meeting point with the driver before you set off and keep your phone with you.
Can we combine Uçhisar, Ortahisar and Çavuşin with Göreme in one booking?
Yes — these villages are so close to Göreme that they fit easily into a single booking. You might climb Uçhisar Castle for the view over Pigeon Valley, stroll the old lanes of Ortahisar and stop at the old village of Çavuşin on the way back. You set the order, the driver waits at each stop, and you never lose time looking for a taxi between villages.
Where can we watch the sunset in Göreme, and can we be taken to dinner afterwards?
The Esentepe viewpoint just above the town is one of the favourite spots for watching the sun go down over Göreme's fairy chimneys and the surrounding valleys. The driver takes you up, waits until the sun has set and then drives you to the restaurant of your choice or back to your hotel. The hilltop gets busy towards sunset, so arriving a little early makes it easier to find a good spot.
How do we plan a south day with an underground city and Ihlara Valley?
A south day usually starts at the Kaymaklı or Derinkuyu underground city, then continues with a walk in Ihlara Valley and a visit to the rock-cut Selime Monastery. Arriving at the underground city early lets you explore the narrow tunnels before the busiest hours. In the valley the driver drops you at one end and waits at the other, so you never have to walk back the same way. As these sights lie further from the fairy-chimney villages, treat this route as the main outing of the day.
