Hourly rates: Economy Sedan €40, FirstClass Van €50, Vip Sprinter €75. Packages run from 2 to 10 hours; for example 4 hours / 80 km with an Economy Sedan costs €160. The price is per vehicle, not per person.
How many kilometres are included, and how far do you get from Ortahisar?
Each hour includes 20 km. Examples from Ortahisar — 2 hours / 40 km: Temenni Hill (Ürgüp).
Where does the chauffeur pick me up?
At your hotel, villa or any address in Ortahisar. Enter it as the pickup location when booking; the driver waits for you at every stop during the package.
Which package do I need for Gomeda Valley?
Gomeda Valley is about 6 km by road from Ortahisar (12 km there and back). The 2 hours / 40 km package covers the trip, including about an hour there.
Can I also book an airport transfer to Ortahisar?
Yes. Nevsehir Cappadocia Airport (NAV) to Ortahisar is about 43 km, ~40 minutes; see the NAV to Ortahisar transfer page for the fixed price.
What should we know about visiting Ortahisar Castle?
Rising from the middle of the village, Ortahisar Castle is a massive rock honeycombed with rooms and passages; when it is open to visitors you can climb up for views over the surrounding valleys. The driver drops you at the square below the castle and waits while you explore; the entrance fee is not included. The stairs are steep and narrow in places, so wear comfortable shoes and take care at the top on windy days.
What is there to see in Ortahisar besides the castle?
Below the castle, the old quarters invite a quiet stroll among rock-cut homes and stone mansions. Ortahisar is known for its rock-cut storerooms, where lemons and oranges from the Mediterranean coast are still kept cool, and you will spot their doors all around the village. The driver waits at the square, so after your walk you can stop for tea at a village café before moving on.
Can we combine Ortahisar with Ürgüp and Mustafapaşa on the same day?
Yes. Ortahisar lies between Göreme and Ürgüp, with Mustafapaşa just beyond Ürgüp, so the three fit comfortably into one booking. You might explore Ortahisar Castle in the morning, stop at Temenni Hill and a wine shop in Ürgüp, then spend the afternoon among the old Greek mansions of Mustafapaşa. This side of Cappadocia is quieter than the area around Göreme, which suits travellers who prefer a day away from the busiest spots.
We are staying in Ortahisar — is it a convenient base for touring with a driver?
Yes, Ortahisar sits right in the middle of the region: Göreme and Uçhisar are a short drive one way, Ürgüp and Mustafapaşa the other. The Nevşehir–Ürgüp road passes close to the village, so routes to the northern valleys and, via Nevşehir, to the underground cities in the south are easy to join. The village's calm atmosphere is also a pleasant change after a busy day of sightseeing.
Does the driver also act as a guide, and are entrance tickets included?
The driver knows the roads and gets you between stops comfortably, but is not a licensed tour guide and does not guide you inside museums or sites. If you would like a licensed guide, arrange and pay for one separately. Museum entrance tickets, balloon flights and similar activities are not included in the price; you buy them yourself at the site or from the operator.
