About Soho House Istanbul
Soho House Istanbul occupies Palazzo Corpi at No:56 Meşrutiyet Caddesi in Beyoğlu, a short walk from Şişhane metro station. The private members' club also works as a hotel, and its 87 bedrooms are spread between the palazzo and the neighbouring buildings leased along with it. The street runs parallel to İstiklal Avenue between Şişhane and Tepebaşı, and Galata Tower is a few minutes' walk to the south.
Istanbul Airport is on the European side, so the transfer needs no bridge: it follows the airport motorway south through Göktürk and Kemerburgaz and enters Beyoğlu from Kağıthane. Soho House is at the Şişhane end of Meşrutiyet Caddesi; the street is open to cars, and guests are set down at the palazzo's entrance.
The palazzo was built between 1873 and 1882 to designs by Giacomo Leoni for the Genoese shipowner Ignazio Corpi. From 1882 it housed the United States legation, later the embassy and, from 1937 until 2003, the consulate general. Soho House leased it in 2014, and the renovation completed in 2015 kept the 19th-century frescoes. Today there are four restaurants, a rooftop bar and pool, a Cowshed spa with a Turkish hammam on the ground floor of the Glass Building, a gym with a boxing ring and a screening room.
