Short answer

There is no single best transfer for everyone. Shuttle buses from Ercan Airport (ECN) are the cheapest way to Nicosia and Kyrenia, but they stop in the town centres. Taxis in North Cyprus usually have no meter, so you agree the fare with the driver. For hotels and villas in Kyrenia, Esentepe, İskele or Bafra a pre-booked private transfer with a fixed price per vehicle is the most predictable: with Vixride from €60 to Nicosia, €60 to Kyrenia and €60 to İskele, paid to the driver, with free cancellation (please let us know at least 24 hours in advance). Booking platforms suit you if you prefer to prepay online.

Why book Vixride at Ercan Airport (ECN)

  • A delayed connection costs nothing extra: flights to Ercan come via Turkey, and the driver follows the actual landing time, with 60 minutes of free waiting after it.
  • A fixed price instead of agreeing a fare: taxis in North Cyprus usually have no meter, while the Vixride price per vehicle is set when you book: from €60 to Kyrenia and €75 to Famagusta.
  • Door to door across the north, including villas and resorts in Esentepe, Lapta, İskele and Bafra that the shuttle buses do not reach.
  • Nothing to prepay: pay the driver in EUR, GBP, USD or TRY, or by card.
  • One price for the whole group: FirstClass Van (Mercedes Vito) for up to 6 and Vip Sprinter for up to 16 passengers, priced per vehicle, not per person.

Ercan has one passenger terminal. Flights to Ercan come via airports in Turkey and there is passport control on arrival, so allow some time before you reach the exit. With your flight number the driver follows the actual landing and waits at the arrivals exit with a name sign.

How to choose a transfer company (checklist)

  1. Licence: in Turkey a travel agency needs a TÜRSAB licence and passenger transport a D2 authorisation from the Ministry of Transport. Ask for the numbers.
  2. Who drives: does the company run its own vehicles, or does a platform pass your booking to a local partner?
  3. Price per vehicle or per person, and what is included: tolls, waiting time for delayed flights, child seats, night rides.
  4. Payment and cancellation: when you pay (online in advance or to the driver) and until when you can cancel for free.
  5. Meeting point: where the driver waits (arrivals exit, name sign) and how long, and what happens if you land at another terminal.
  6. Recent reviews on independent sites (Google, TripAdvisor), not only on the company's own website.

What Vixride offers (and where we are not the best fit)

  • TÜRSAB-licensed travel agency (no. 14798) with a D2 authorisation; SRC-certified drivers, insured vehicles.
  • Own Mercedes fleet: Economy Sedan (E-Class, up to 3), FirstClass Van (Vito, up to 6), Vip Sprinter (up to 16); 20 Vito vans at each of our 10 airports.
  • Fixed price per vehicle, shown before booking; tolls, waiting for delayed flights and child seats are included.
  • No prepayment: pay the driver on the day in cash (EUR, USD, GBP, TRY) or by card. Free cancellation; please let us know at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Flight tracking and 60 minutes of free waiting after the actual landing; the driver meets you at the arrivals exit with a name sign.
  • If you are not satisfied with the service, you may choose not to pay the fare.

When another option is better

  • You travel alone with light luggage and want the lowest price: the bus or a shared shuttle costs less. We only run private vehicles.
  • You want to pay everything online in advance: we take payment on the day, so a booking platform suits you better.
  • You land in less than 2 hours: online booking closes 2 hours before pickup, so take the official airport taxi.
  • Your airport is not one of our 10 airports (IST, SAW, AYT, GZP, ADB, BJV, DLM, ASR, NAV, ECN).
