About Rixos Tersane Istanbul
On the north shore of the Golden Horn, the old Ottoman naval shipyards of Kasımpaşa are being redeveloped as Tersane Istanbul, and Rixos Tersane Istanbul was the first part of the project to open, in September 2024, as the flagship of the Rixos brand. The five-star hotel stands right on the water at Taşkızak Tersanesi Caddesi No:23/1, in the Camiikebir neighbourhood of Beyoğlu. Galata Tower is about 1.8 km to the south-east and Taksim Square about 2.4 km east, while the Süleymaniye Mosque rises on the hill across the Golden Horn, about 2.2 km to the south.
Istanbul Airport is on the same European side as the hotel, so the drive has no Bosphorus crossing. It heads south past Göktürk and Kemerburgaz to Kağıthane, where the Kağıthane–Piyalepaşa tunnel comes out on Piyalepaşa Boulevard; the boulevard runs down into Kasımpaşa, and the last stretch ends at the hotel's entrance on Taşkızak Tersanesi Caddesi, inside the former shipyard. By road this is the nearer airport.
The design of its 432 rooms draws on six centuries of shipbuilding on the site, and many of them look out over the Golden Horn.
